Using the Effects Inspector in the Editor

WireTap Studio supports Audio Unit plug ins. Audio Unit effects can be added prior to recording in the Effects pane of the preferences.

The Effects Inspector in WireTap Studio's lossless and non-destructive editor can add audio effects to a recording, or remove audio effects added during recording with no loss of quality or audio to the original recording.

To open the Effects Inspector for a recording, select the recording in the library and click on Edit, or simply double click the file. Then click on the FX button.

Add Effect - use this menu to select Audio Unit effects.

The column to the left will list the Audio Units that have been added to this recording. Use the checkbox next to each effect to apply it or not.

Minus - use this button to remove Audio Unit effects.

Track 1, Track 2 - if more than one source is recorded, WireTap Studio will save them to separate tracks in the same file. Use these buttons to choose which track to work with.

Custom - The options for a particular audio effect can be set for a single recording, or you can use this menu to create a custom preset with a particular audio effect. That preset will then be available for other recordings. Some Audio Units will come with their own factory presets. If so they will be listed in the Custom menu.

To create a custom Audio Unit preset, add that Audio Unit and set the options for that custom preset. Then click on the plus sign and name your custom preset.

The main body of the Effects Inspector window will display the controls for the settings available to the selected Audio Unit.
